Lake Gregory Nuwara Eliya It is the best picnicking spot in the central hills. Boating on the lake, cycling, walking and pony riding, are available, while children can enjoy playing.

Laxapana Falls Standing at 126 metres in height, this is Sri Lanka’s 8th highest waterfall. Buddha is said to have mended his saffron robe, here, on his way to Sri Pada.

Nuwara Eliya Golf Course This 18-hole course built in the 19th century covers 100 acres. The club, one of the oldest in South Asia, also offers a kids academy, pro shop, and training.

Horton Plain National Park Home to World’s End, the wild grasslands and forested areas have populations of sambar deer and purple-faced langurs darting in and out of sight.

Hakgala Botanical Gardens It is the 2nd largest garden in Sri Lanka, and its 10,000 species of flowers thrive in Nuwara Eliya climate. Ramayana mentions it as a gift to Sita from Ravana.

Victoria Park One of the best-maintained town parks, it was established in 1987 for Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. The park has flowers, birds and a miniature train.
